The Nest in Indian Wells

Legendary Hot Spot-- New Look for an Old Favorite!
I started coming to the Nest back in the late 80's. It was a fun safe place to get out, hear some great music, mingle with the locals and kick up your heels! Dodi was the hostess back then... Rosalie handled the cocktails like a pro, Mama rang up the checks, and Eddie & Artie cranked out the drinks at the bar as fast as you could order them!
Now... Dodi is back along with Kevin here husband, as owners! The Nest is one of Indian Wells’ best known eateries and bars since 1965. Dodi Henry began as a hostess, and greeted the guests like you were entering her home. She was lured away to Arnold Palmer's restaurant in 2003 and managed Palmer's for 7 years. Kevin entertained nightly at Palmer's ... but The Nest has always been their home! Former Nest owner Ted Hanes helped make it happen-- and now both Dodi and Kevin are back!
The Nest is known as a great place to get out and mix it up... have some fun, dance, meet someone... Heck, I even met my husband at The Nest! Not kidding. We met Arnold Palmer, Peter Jacobsen, Junior Seau, and hooked up with Paul Azinger several years in a row there!
“A younger clientele has responded to the new menu and look of the restaurant,” says Dodi. “There is something for everyone at The Nest. Our menu still offers many classic favorites and new contemporary items. “We wanted to keep its legendary status but freshen the look and update the food,” says Executive Chef JC Valadez. “We’ve added Dodi’s mom’s traditional dishes.” “Customers have been coming for the food and then staying for the fun!” The Nest now has a popular $6 bar menu available all night Sundays and Mondays and 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Jim Blaine was the piano player when I first started going to the Nest... He would whip the crowd into a frenzy and have them rolling up dollar bills and "shooting" them into his tip jar. A few years later, Tim Burleson took over and he has been there for almost 20 years! His high-energy style draws celebrities and local talented musicians to join him. Tim and Kevin provide a great mix of songs you know and they encourage you to sing along, or if you have the pipes, to come up and take the microphone! Even Nicholas, the son of Dodi and Kevin joins in with his saxophone on Sundays. Rosalie Griffo, a cocktail server for 26 years, and Eddie Zachary, a bartender for 35 years, are still here. Dinner 5-11 p.m., bar 4:30 p.m. to midnight. Live entertainment nightly.
