I think there is nothing prettier here in the mountains of Franklin NC than waking to fresh fallen snow. However, with the holidays behind us and dealing with the often cold days of January, not to mention that February and March can be quite chilly here in the beautiful Appalachian mountains, I needed something to brighten my outlook.
The National Assocaiton of Realtors Economic Forecast for 2012 and 2013 did just that. The NAR prediction has an increase for Housing Starts (Multi and Single Family), New Home Sales, Existing Home Sales as well as an increase in New Home Prices and Existing Home Prices. The NAR also predicts a rise in the Gross Domestic Product.
While this does not mean we as Realtors will not have to work as hard or that home buyers and investors will suddenly have easy access to credit, it does show optimism for better times ahead, something we all can hope for.
Even though our rural market in Franklin NC may not respond to change as quickly as metropolitan markets, I hope this prediction report from the National Association of Realtors materializes into more business for Realtors as well as supporting agencies like bankers, attorneys, home inspectors, surveyors and more. Check out the link below for full details.
I hope this information will inspire each of us, Realtors, affilites and consumers. If you live in the sunnier parts of our country, enjoy, and know that here in the mountains, like everywhere, a rainbow after a storm is reason to smile.
Thanks and let me know what you think.
