Overrated and Underrated. January 15, 2012
Oops.
It's been a while since I put out an Overrated and Underrated. I'll try to be better about it. I don't know if I will be, but I'll try.
Overrated - Looking at homes in the dark. There are a few reasons for this. First, you can't really see anything on the outside of the house. Even with flashlights, it's still difficult to see the condition of the roof, siding, chimney, etc. Second, you can't see how the rest of the neighborhood stacks up to what you're looking for. Next is that once inside, even with normal lighting, there's things that will look differently once viewed in the daylight hours. Like paint and carpet colors, stains, etc. There'll be shadows that make some things harder to see unless there's natural light. Plus, you'll want to come back and see the house in the daylight again anyway, wasting both of our time.
***To be fair about looking at homes in the dark, there are times when there's no way around it. I do what I need to do for my clients. If you can't get off of work until it's dark out, we'll do the best we can.
Underrated - The butter on movie theater popcorn. It's awesome, isn't it? I haven't been to the movies in a long, long time, but while I'm taking some time off for the shoulder to heal, I'm going to go the the movies. And have a giant tub of heavily buttered popcorn. Can you hear my arteries screaming already?
Talk to you later...
