I've been reading a number of blog entries over the past couple of weeks and I've been wondering:
Who do YOU blog for?
I don't think there's any one right answer, as a blog can be basically whatever you want it to be.
Personally, I am trying to mold and shape our blog into something that can be a resource not only for our past and current clients and neighbors, but also for potentially future clients. We try to include not only our listings (which helps to give them added exposure on the web) but also area events and news, as well as real estate related tips. In an ideal world, this is what our blog would be. We also hope to improve our standing on google for certain keywords, such as Country Club of the South (a neighborhood where we do a lot of business), Alpharetta, and Johns Creek. We have found that this blog has helped with that.
I don't often post "Members Only" posts to Active Rain, because I feel that, if I am going to take the time to write a blog entry, I want it to be something for the public - hopefully something of interest to someone out there in cyberspace who may happen to find my entry and be able to use it and enjoy it.
That is my hope.
I have noticed, though, that a lot of bloggers on AR post mainly "Members Only" posts. It makes me wonder if they see blogging as simply a way to connect with other REALTORS® (nothing wrong with that!) OR if they have another blog that they use as a "public" blog. I know there are several who have multiple blogs.
So I ask...Who do YOU blog for? I am truly interested in your answers, so I hope I'll get many!
