Chocolate Miniature Schnauzer

Chocolate Miniature Schnauzers are a wonderful breed of dog and our dog Cynnamon Spice has been with my wife and I since October 10, 2010. I’ve always loved Airedale Terriers and when we found out that chocolate miniature schnauzers were hypoallergenic and didn’t need a whole lot of space it seemed to be a great fit.

Chocolate Miniature Schnauzer Cynnamon Spice

I won’t go into the history of where this breed came from or attempt to go into the fine details of their temperament; however, I will tell you that Chocolate Miniature Schnauzers are not common since most miniature schnauzers come in only three colors: black, salt-and-pepper, and black-and-silver. And while there are some “purists” out there that will say that Chocolate Miniature Schnauzers are not a pure breed; I cannot remember a time or event where someone that we didn’t know told us that we have the cutest dog ever! We have even had a car pass us and then slow down to get another look at our little girl Cynnamon Spice. So to them I would say “I don’t care!” Mine is Pure Chocolate!

Now since I’m telling you about our Chocolate Miniature Schnauzer, I’ve read that the American Kennel Club describes their temperament as being alert and spirited and our Cynnamon is certainly that. While we got her after she was 8 months old we’ve taken her to puppy school twice and pet manners once. Now she is quite obedient to command just as the AKC describes her breed. Because she was not socialized with a lot of people at an early age she is very aloof with strangers until we introduce them to her and provide treats. One of the happy things about our Chocolate Miniature Schnauzer “Cynnamon” is that she is not a barky dog. She is very happy to see me when I get home and loves to be chased around the sofa all the while barking with joy “run faster and catch me daddy”.  Now our Cynnamon Spice is a very playful and has in the past become bored thereby inviting her own “fun” as some Chocolate Miniature Schnauzers have been known to do.

Hi, Randy

How are you doing?  We are now at the Rogers Ranch office.

I have a salt & pepper Schnauzer who with her Boston Terrier sister are our greatest fun.  Dolce (daughter named her after Dolce Gabana whom Mom had NEVER heard of) can be barky when she wants something.  She is also territorial with her bed but the Boston is the alpha dog so rules the rest of the roost.
