Over the next couple days I am going to work on a speech that I will be doing soon at my Elk River, MN Toastmasters club. (visitors welcomed) One of my goals I am working on with this speech is to write it out. Yes, believe it or not in the past I have just been practicing the speeches based on ideas I have in my head. For the most part that has worked well. Some of the speeches would have been much better if they were written out.
Another reason for writing the speeches out is so I have material to build on for future speeches inside of Toastmasters or outside to other groups or organizations. In the Real Estate business I think presentation skills are very important and I joined Toastmasters to get better at presenting and listening.
I want to relight a fire I had for talking about some of the things I am very passionate about. I feel that getting in front of people and talking about subjects that can help people or motivate people is something that makes me feel good. So this year I have a goal of taking my speaking skills to a higher level! If you have that goal look up a Toastmasters club in your area.
