All referrals are welcome, some referrals are priceless! For example, this one we received yesterday in our email. I think both Kevin and Michele contributed to the composition of the email...
"Hi Mona,
I am very excited. Why you ask...I get to email you and instead of asking for help with something, i get to refer someone to you.
“Name Confidential” is another firefighter with us and will be in Franklin tomorrow evening. He will be in town for 3 days and is basically looking for something like what Mike and I have.
He said 2-5 acres with some usable space. I talked with him for a bit and went over all the "give and takes" with regards to view, access, water views, water to drink, electric, septic.
Nice guy and he can talk...like way more than me or Michele. I sent a link to your website and he should be calling you. I told him you guys were the greatest and really spent the time helping us. Also told him, that more notice would have been good.
Happy new year, Kevin and Michele"
This is what I’d call a stellar referral! Kevin and Michele were the result of a similar referral from yet another firefighter in Wellington, Florida. Over the span of about four years, this will make the third set of firefighters and first responders we’ve worked with from the same Fire House in Wellington, Florida.
Working with people from outside the state on vacant land has its unique logistical challenges. The first deal went very smoothly, as did Kevin and Michele’s. After Kevin and Michele closed though, some “issues” surfaced. The lot had been advertised and sold with septic installed. Since the seller had been an investor, he had purchased the lot assuming the septic was installed. The first time Kevin emailed me with this concern, my stomach dropped…as anyone in real estate can imagine.
We were in the dead of winter with sub-freezing temps and frequent snow and the new owners were in Florida. I was able to pull some good septic people, county contacts and a ditch digging handyman from our list of preferred service providers and sent the names to Kevin. He did all the coordinating from Florida and long story short…the septic was there, just buried really deep. Phew.
Kevin’s frequent calls and emails never bothered me. Our contracts and deals are never done until the clients are satisfied. Usually that happens at the closing table, but not always. Once in a rare while, the hard work happens AFTER the sale.
It was a real bonus to thoroughly enjoy the buyers from Wellington, Florida on a personal level. The level of professional satisfaction however, from having clients recognize your efforts with the reward of putting your name forward when someone else is looking for a REALTOR is just priceless.
