Family Funeral Sparks House Thoughts

My mother's sister died last week ( thanks for your sympathy - at 92 she had lived a full life and was ready - I am glad she won;t hurt anymore).  The funeral was held in Portland Oregon then my cousins piled in their cars and headed Sw 400 miles, to the other border of Oregon - Ontario where there were graveside services.  The late get together was at my house, we have recently moved so it was the house's first opportunity to host a large group.  It passed the test!!

These things are important.  Our clients aren't just buying for themselves.  They are picking houses to meet their criteria for all sorts of reasons.  As agents we have to keep ourselves from assuming we know what the client needs.  That's easy to say but not as easy to do.

For instance, I know that any home I have better have lots of parking - I will need it.  I am always looking for places to park boats camp trailers and other recreational vechicles for my clients even when they  don't have these things yet.  Chances are in our outdoors oriented area, they will.

If my clients are Hispanic - many times we will want room for an elderly family member - and there will need to be a logical place for a large dining table, and a place for large family Barbeques.

Empty nesters may need a place where grandchildren can relax and make noise without bothering other people in the house.

It's worth the time to get a little more info about our clients needs and explain a little why we are being so nosy !     We want the home purchase to meet as many of their current and future needs as possible.
