America has been called the melting pot of the world. This is a diverse country and truly the best place to live on earth. As Realtors this can be reinforced with each closing and the standard of living that the transaction creates. Consumers may take for granted this privileges and luxuries. Being aware of the fortune we have in this country is a great way to stay positive through the difficulties of the real estate profession. As fuel prices rise, a call to action is beginning to echo for conservation and the preservation of this standard of living. The real estate industry is in the down cycle and appreciation may not be back for a while. This should not be the sole reason for home ownership. Having a roof over ones head is a blessing and should not be taken for granted. It is not up the lenders, the government or Realtors to solve the economy. It will only be done as a collective effort.
