KEEPING THE POSITIVE IN THIS NEGATIVE MARKET!

By
Real Estate Agent with Atlanta Communities

With this market that we are now in and the negative media attention, are YOU keeping a positive attitude? We are!

We consistently send out information on the positive side of real estate to our database, letting them know all is NOT doom and gloom as the media presents.

Now is a great time to buy as interests rates are low, as well as there is a great selection of homes to buy from now. Builders are offering all kinds of incentives for new homes too. Also, now is a great time for investors to buy homes to keep for at least two years and rent out as the rental market is good. Now is NOT the time for flipping however, as the days on market are longer. The old adage of "buy low and sell high" is where we're at. So yes, the positive is that NOW is a great time to buy!

Sure, the market may not be good for most Sellers, but there are buyers out there and if the seller makes sure they price their home right in the first place and that they have staged their home properly and done needed maintenance and repairs, their house will be one of the first to sell in this Buyer's Market.  They may not get the price they wanted initially on their home, but on the flip side, when a seller then goes to buy another home, they'll more than likely get a great deal. It works both ways. You may make more on your home when it's a Seller's market  but you'll pay more to buy another home and visa versa.

Another thing, all real estate is local! What may be happening in one part of the country, state, or even city, may not be happening in your area. Buyers and Sellers should work with agents familiar AND knowledgeable with their areas.

I agree with you 100%.   The negative national media is depressing.  But, I keep my chin up....have a good smile and do my best to let folks know that our "local market" is different that the horror stories on the news.   A positive attitude is a must for me, even if I am professionally frustrated with my listings that aren't moving.  I never share my frustration with clients....I only complain to my husband....the poor guy.

We just had a closing last week and another this week so we can't complain. We are also bringing Canadian clients here because of the dollar being so strong. We closed 6 transactions this year from our Canadian clientele.
