We all know that it is the content of our blogs and our posts that will bring the Reader. We have many audiences here in the world of blogging. We can write for the real estate Industry, the Consumer or for other businesses. One of the first things you will need to do is to specify who you are writing for.
I write Localism for the Consumer. I chose to write to inform and to inspired. I also write about who we are as Realtors and about how we do business. The beautiful thing about blogging is that it allows your Reader to get to know you. Through your posts about short sales and by providing good information and resources to people who are looking for that specific information, you have provided a valuabe service. The same is true of Localism and people looking to relocate to your area. This basic concept is well understood.
Content continues to be the key element of helping your Reader. Your content should be of a rich nature and diverse in your offerings. Endless market reports while valuable are only one facet of what will be the fully developed array of services you write about. Engagement comes from sharing that fully developed and well presented Community presence--a lifestyle. It will delight and be useful to the Reader. The Reader does care about market reports as they provide great value and a service that is important. Events and cultural centers are important to any community and sharing with video or photos helps your Reader learn more about the lifestyle of living in your area. They can learn about your area with these "mini" tours of life that you present. The Consumer can actually learn just as much about the local area through your work as when they come to stay for a week and tour the area.
The really cool thing is that through you work and prior to their visit, they now have a better idea of where they want to spend their time and the things that they want to see and do. They will be more effective and able to see and do more. They will have identified those areas they want to explore and learn more about. Your work has already benefited them and now you have established value for them. Your relationship is off to a great start and it all began with the value you offer in building a localism community presence.
The sky is the limit here. I have only touched on the surface of what is possible. You have endless possibilities to drill down to a specific community or to write for larger areas. I market to those looking to relocate to the North State. Most of the people looking to move here are from the Bay Area or Southern California. They find me on-line and they want to see who I am and what I offer. The diversity by which I write ensures that I will be found from a vast array of search terms and the varied interests of my Readers. It is a value proposition.
