Winter arrived just in time for the Winterfest in Coralville this year. Until last week it didn't look like we were going to get a winter in Iowa this year. Fortunately for all of us the weather gods  smiled down on us and it is suitably cold with a fair amount of snow for this Sunday's annual celebration of winter at the Iowa River Landing. Fire Department Winterfest Coralville 2011

I love the tour of fire engines with the kids, it is also one of their favorites. We got lucky when my daughter was real young. We were on vacation in a winter resort and a fire engine broke down right in front of our cabin. We brought the fireman hot cocoa and my daughter got to play on that truck for over an hour. (It was so awesome!)

Yep. This is the one kids love Todd. Much more than the horse and carriage!

Cool that you've got such a good memory to look back on. I have a good memory too. The Coralville Fire Department came and saved my house from burning to the ground 2 years ago. (I'm not being facetious, the fire was awful, but they were awesome!)
