Buyers are starting to stir. We've had a couple warm days lately and the phone has started ringing. Looks like spring is in the air, though it's actually quite a ways down the road.
My thoughts are that the buyers out now have been putting off buying for one reason or another and they're now out of time. They believe that the market has pretty much tanked and this may be their best chance to grab a deal. I actually had a client get an offer for half of their asking price this week. It was verbal because their agent didn't want to waste any time writing it up. Amazing.
The coming year will be interesting, as the spring comes in we'll see more movement, but not a recovery. The water dragon on earth year will not be as happy and prosperous as we'd like. People are still very concerned, and fearful. Next spring will be better. 2013 is a fire year, with fire to support the earth, the support will bring us back to a less fearful, more profitable market.
In the meantime though, caution is the key. Be grateful for every little thing. This ride isn't over yet.
