Being green is practicing what you preach, good for you to lead by example.
I love saving $$ on gas and may look into a Prius for my next car. A few people have told me that with their Prius their mileage is about 43-45 or so, but I have found out that driving habits have alot of impact on mpg's....I know this is not popular on the So CAl freeways but I drive 55-to 60 mph. You burn alot more gas, the faster you drive-----and it's also safer to drive slower. But I get honked at & almost driven off the road by many an impatient idiot, on a daily basis...... even though I am in the right lane. ???
Deborah....it is the same way here & being a Massachusetts driver, I do not think I could keep it at 60 mph. *Sigh* But the Prius display tells you what you are getting for mileage so I do find myself adjusting.
We have to embrace the new (old actually) technologies and think of the planet. FINALLY, the auto manufacturers are coming on board............we could have had this 50 years ago!
Cool Christine & I commend you for it...i'm very green at home but my Camry is my lifeline for here & now!
Barbara Jo....I guess better late than never.
Ginny...we needed to get a car. The other 2 were old & starting to cost money....especially if I kept piling on the miles. With my older daughter driving, it all made sense & is making my life easier. That Camry will last you a long time!
