It is Raining on Google Picnik - the Photo Site will be Shuttered on April 19, 2012

I use Picnik all the time because I really it's really easy and user friendly..which to me Picasa isn't..so this is to me is not great news unless Google keeps it as simple to use and doesn't complicate things when merging. Change...it's so hard sometimes!

This is the way of the interwebs Cindy. We are destined to learn how to use things just in time for the powers-that-be to take them away from us and force us to learn something new.

Hi Malcolm, I guess it's good for the ole brain to learn new things..but man, I hate when they change things that are so easy, I can do them in my sleep (well sorta..maybe early morning with no caffiene yet)

I bought photoshop a year ago.  It's been on the shelf.  Today I installed it.  Soon I learn how to use it.

Cindy,  Change can be difficult and good at the same time.  I just started using Picnik somewhat consistently but only used the free version.  I am confident Google will make it easy and better.

Hi Debb, I just got the e-mail yesterday with some links..so will go check them out..bummer for sure!

Hi Fred, you're most welcome..thanks for the heads up!

Hi Cheryl, I'm curious to see how user friendly Google+ makes it. Picnik is/was super easy with great results..sigh.

Hi Tammy, I have Picasa and others...and have used Picnik through Picasa...but now will just have to teach learn some new tricks before April so I have an editing program I'm comfy with. Good luck with learning Photoshop..that does look like a cool program.

Hi Mel, I haven't read their blog yet, but I can imagine. I did follow some of the links but wasn't in the right mental space to really take a look. Such a good program..maybe someone else will come along and create a another version of it.

Hi Jill, me too! hate when my easy stuff now becomes challenging.

Hi Peter & Linda, I've checked out the windows photo editor live..as well as Picasa and such, neither to me are as easy and user friendly as picnik..so hoping with the merge Google+ will not make us have to go through lots of stuff just to edit a picture. I'll keep an open mind..who knows, I might like it.

Hi David, It's such a simple go no brainer kind of site..so bummer that It's going away. Such is life on the internet.

Hi Kathleen, I hope you're right..change is hard, but always inevitable. Guess that other side of my brain will just have to wake up and do some work!
