It is Raining on Google Picnik - the Photo Site will be Shuttered on April 19, 2012
I use Picnik all the time because I really it's really easy and user friendly..which to me Picasa isn't..so this is to me is not great news unless Google keeps it as simple to use and doesn't complicate things when merging. Change...it's so hard sometimes!
Google is closing Picnik, the popular Photo Editing Site. It goes down forever on April 19. Picnik will be morphed into Google+ in the near future. If you paid for Premium, you can get a refund. Starting today, Premium Features will be Free to all Users.
Google also announced the death of the Social Graph API, Google Sky Map, Urchin, Google Message Continuity, and Needlebase.
Google VP of Product Management Dave Girouard says, "Google plans to offer photo editing across Google products".
Google will integrate Picnik's photo editing capabilities into Picasa, and more importantly, Google+
