Agents Beware -A Sure Sign You Need A New Process in Place

This past few weeks has been ridiculously busy for both myself and my husband. I'm jamming with a bunch of new short sales and he's been flying who knows where every few days.  Needless to say we're a bit tired!

Since he has been leaving at 5:00 am or earlier and getting back in town really late I've tried to take on thewww.phoenixpropertyshoppe.com 'kitchen' duties. Like a thoughtful wife I kindly filled the dishwasher and turned it on before I went to bed. When he got home he kindly made coffee for me, like he does most of the time.

The next morning he left really early again. When I got up it was still dark out and

I was so... needing a cup of coffee!

I saw the  coffee tray pulled out (like it always is when the coffee is ready to be turned on).  I turned on the ON switch and went on to feed the cat etc.

A few minutes later I came back to get my cup of coffee. I picked up the cup and reached for the pot.  What?  Where is the pot?  I looked inside to see if there were coffee grounds and sure enough there were and it was steaming but it looked kind of funny?

Huh?  Where the heck is the coffee?

I looked on the counter and floor - thinking the coffee had run all over the place - and what a mess that would be.  But there was no coffee anywhere???

Not being quite awake yet I was a bit perplexed on where the coffee went.....this was just so weird!

I then tuned on a brighter light and there it was....the coffee was nicely contained in the tray!  Not even one drop of it had flowed over the tray.  And BTW I had just placed this new, bigger tray there a few days earlier. There is always something to be grateful for.....right!!  I had to laugh cause it was pretty funny to me - even being so sleepy!

So what do you supposed happened to mess up the coffee process?

Remember that I filled the dishwasher being the kind wife that I am!  And I thought that I should really clean the coffee pot and filter thingy since it had been awhile.  Gary came home and made coffee, being the thoughtful husband he is - but didn't realize there was no pot. He did think it was a little odd about the coffee filter thing being so low - but it was about midnight and he was so tired and it just didn't register!

I called him after I had cleaned up the mess and started a new pot of coffee.  I was laughing while I was asking him about the where-a-bouts of the  coffee pot and the low filter.  At first he didn't catch on to what I was talking about.  What???  What are you talking about he says?

When I told him that both he and I totally spaced there was no coffee pot
to catch the brewing coffee nor was there a filter thingy in place,  he just says OMG!!!

Some days you just got to laugh at the things that happen....and turn it into some fun!

How does not one, but two professionals NOT notice there isn't a pot to catch the coffee!!

Postscript....I am still laughing about it!  It was just too funny!

Anna= I'd say you guys need some R&R!   Our big fully automatic coffee wizard thingie is on the blitz and while it is being fixed, we've had to pull out the small emergency coffee maker we have.  I remember the second morning we had a pot of nice hot water as someone forgot to put in the coffee. Have a great weekend.

Anna,   Do cold pressed coffee.  You can just nuke it in the morning and it is the best coffee possible.

Anna, we have done that before...funny yet a bit messy.  My husband makes a pot of coffee in the morning, we drink it all throughout the day....we just nuke it if it is cold!

Anna,  Sometimes we need these wake up calls to jolt us out of the non-stop process of going from A to B.  I tried to be a good wife and make my hubby's coffee one night.  I drink tea in the morning so I rarely mess with the coffee.  I was so proud of myself.  He has the pot that grinds the beans and then brews.  When he got up, he poured a nice cup of hot water.  I put the cofffee beans in the wrong area.  They were damp but not ground and not brewed.  Oh well.

Harry actually it all seemed quite funny to me!  I wasn't upset at all.....but had it been running all over the counters, floor and it the drawers....might have been different!

Joan yes we laughed about it this morning when he was making coffee.  Is the pot there!!

Brenda - it kind of was like that....where was the coffee or coffee pot!  It didn't make sense that early in the morning!!

Bob - no way I'm a coffee snob and that Kurig just isn't my style....;0

Karen I did this am - thankfully!

Gary - laughing at ones self is so much fun!  And no way on the little packet coffee!  No way!! Fresh groud for this gal!!

Patrick - absolutely.  Laughing was the best thing that early!

Kathy - hmmm that could be the problem. I'm using the small pot as it's just me the enjoys hot coffee,  Mabye I should be the bigger one back out. If we don't notice the pot is missing we'd really be in trouble!

Rebecca - you know what I mean for sure!

Marge - no way!! I'll have to write a story about that kind of coffee.......a lot of very dissappointed adults amongst about 45 kids at summer camp.

Tom we both agreed it's so...but at least it temporay.

Scott - oh good, sombody else like us!

Ed- you got it. I had a early conference call and I really needed to wake up!  Ha!

Ron - I was lucky and grateful that I had put the tray there.  It's kind of a goofy pot to begin with and it always drips - that's why I did it.  I think I'll get a new one!

That's one thing I'll never have to worry about with my coffee pot.  It will not release the coffee into the pot unless the pot is there to put pressure on the mechanism holding the filter, coffee and water.  I would have had that accident many times over if not for it's design.

Oh Anna, you sound busy!  That is so nice that he makes the coffee, even though it didn't work out this time, haha.  Funny story.  At least you didn't have a big coffee mess to deal with.  The bright side of things, right? -Kasey

Belinda sounds like we've had these little mishaps.  Ahhhh thankfully this morning went just fine!

Chris Ann - off to go shopping am I this week!  I need one of those.  My Mom used to tease me and say I needed everything that shut itself off because I always was going a million miles a minute!  Guess she's still right and looking down and saying......get a coffee pot like Chris Ann's!!!

Kasey - exactly! I was so happy to see where it all ended up.  Lucky Day!

What a great story from one coffee lover to another! I try to avoid drinking a whole pot in one day....but if I do, I try to fill it all up and set the timer. There is something so sweet about walking into the kitchen at 6am and BAM....fresh hot coffee!

Now, I've messed up and did not get the pot back in the burner right, and I have no tray.....but I had a coffee counter and kitchen floor!

Or, try it with no water......I'm amazed it did not ruin the coffee maker!

Thanks for the memories....

Anna,  It could have been worse.  Thankfully it did not short or cause a fire.  Your new process must include both of you getting more sleep!  It is funny … and I am glad it only resulted in a mess to be cleaned up.

Charles it's my big goal for the week on the home front...buy ones of those machines!

Thom - there is something so nice about the smell of coffee at 6 am!  Maybe it's time for a tray?

Kathleen - na I don't see it going down that road, thankfully!  It was funny and I'll think of it every time I see that tray!
