Welcome to Village on the Green, in Haverstraw, NY.

This townhouse complex was built between 1964 and 1966. The units range in square footage from 1216 square feet to 1956 square feet and are two levels or three levels. There are 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom, 4 bedroom, 5 bedroom, and 6 bedroom units.

There is ample parking for the townhouses.  Some of them have 1 car garages and additional spots in front of the garage and some have as many as four parking spaces in front of them.

The units are bright and sunny and spacious.  Some of them have fireplaces to enjoy on those cold winter days and nights!

The townhouses have washers and dryers in them.

I like the fact that it is easy to bring groceries into the kitchen, because there are so few steps to enter the main living area, which includes an eat-in-kitchen and a living room/dining room combination.

Each townhome has a private backyard.  Many of them have ornamental trees and flowering perennials and annuals.

Some of the townhouses have views of a beautiful stream that offers a feeling of tranquility as you watch and listen to it while you lounge on your back deck or patio.

Many of the units have terraces off of the master bedroom, too.

There is a park in the center of the development and a playground.

As a pet lover, I am glad to say that pets are allowed.

At the time of the writing of this article, there is one unit on the market being offered at $199,900.

In 2010, one unit sold for $220,000.

Haverstraw is close to many highways, including Route 202, Route 9W, the NYS thruway (I-87), the Palisades Interstate Parkway (PIP), and the Tappan Zee Bridge.  Using these roads you can commute to Westchester and Connecticut by crossing the TZ bridge, or Bergen County, by heading west on the NYS thruway and taking either the Garden State Parkway or I-287. 

Haverstraw is also close to the Haverstraw ferry which will take you to Ossining, NY where you can board the railroad to NYC.  The Coach USA busline is available as another alternative to commuting to NYC.

You will be near a variety of shopping and many fine restaurants. 

Another benefit of living here is that residents living in the Town of Haverstraw can enjoy all of Haverstraw's facilities, including beautiful Bowline Point Park and the Haverstraw Marina. Bowline Point Park is a special treat. It has tennis courts, a waterslide, an adult pool, a kiddie pool, a sprinkler park, picnic and barbecue areas, playgrounds and great views of mountains and the Hudson River. Harverstraw Marina has a pool by the Hudson that you can enjoy, with a membership fee. It has a restaurant there, too. I have enjoyed a number of meals at the restaurant, sitting outside and watching the sailboats on the river float by.
