Good Morning America is doing a series on how to sell your house in a tough market. This morning Wendy Bounds worked with a couple in Detroit who have had their home on the market for nearly a year.
She suggested BLOGGING about your home, putting it on YOU TUBE, putting it in Craigslist, Zillow, AOL, Yahoo - many of the internet places I would have considered (although I must admit the YOU TUBE ones are kinda weird). She also suggested putting together fliers for a garage sale / open house - and including a $1000 reward for someone who finds a buyer for the home!
I was unfamiliar with GOOGLE BASE - another suggested place for homeowners to list their property - and so I checked it out. WOW! Just like all the other Google products I like (no wonder it'sas expensive as gold!) GOOGLE Base is another place to put information about the home so everyone else sees it.
Wendy's series of WSJ articlesand GMA clips are continuing, so you might want to continue to check on them for more ideas! (I'm certain clients will!)
If you've had good, or bad, experience with any of these tools - please let me know!
