The Art of Being Green - It's mostly common sense.

The Art of Being Green - It's mostly common sense. The art of being green isn’t a fad or trendy. It's mostly common sense, and a time honored perspective that recognizes our link to all living things.

Rather than celebrating our power over nature, a green attitude understands the joy and benefit of living in harmony with nature.

Living in harmony promotes a sense of community and creates connections between ourselves and the environment. Instead of taking our resources for granted, a green viewpoint respects and marvels at the centuries old mysteries of nature's gifts.

Clean water, sunlight and fresh air - the basis for our survival, are too often taken for granted.  It’s an easy mistake. Understanding their value, The Art of Being Green - It's mostly common sense.and the need to preserve them for centuries to come, makes good common sense. Imagine a life without one, or all three.

The art of being green isn’t something that comes in a box or a bottle. We shouldn't use it to give ourselves a
pat on the back. It is an intuitive knowing that somehow, somewhere, we all share an energy that is inexplicable.

The Art of Being Green - it’s mostly common sense and a time honored perspective that recognizes our link to all living things.

Hi Debb - Excellent post! We're rapidly approaching a point where being Green isn't going to be optional. The viewpoint you provide in your post is very helpful - it gives us the right framework to take seriously our obligations to the planet and future generations.

It's easy to gain a full appreciation of 'living in harmony with nature' when you live in the Pacific Northwest!  We are constantly reminded of our beautiful 'green' surroundings and you can't help but want to do your part to preserve it.  It's a much different story for those folks living among high rise buildings surrounded by concrete.  It's easy for them to lose touch with nature and what part they play in preservation and conservation.

I love your 'green' posts Debb... it gives us all something to ponder on how we can contribute... even in the smallest of ways, to living green ;)

Robert, you are so right, green buyers are savvy. That's why I didn't stop at the Green designation from the NAR. I wanted to really get a stronger knowledge and found that with the EcoBroker program...although, it requires continual self education to keep up with the latest and greatest. Glad you're promoting the benefits of green. Good Going. D

Debb--I am right here with you.  Just looking out my window and enjoying my view of nature as we own six acres of woods with stream running down the middle.  Today is racing to the lake as we had a lot of rain on top of snow last week.

I clicked SUGGEST and plan to reblog.

Dick, I so hope you're right. The sooner the better... we're doing pretty well in our states, but so many others are waaaay behind in figuring some of this out. Talk to you soon. D

Hey Q man - aren't you a pal? I did read that the powers in the Q have lessened requirements for builders concerning green - I was sad to read the news.

Hi Debb - You're singing to the choir on this one. I think it is really important to showcase GREENWASHING in that so many Realtors are not prepared to help buyers make informed choices. It's just not inspections anymore, its operational maintenance, long and short term!

Yes, You are a SHARP COOKIE!

Debb,

You are right about being green is intuitive.  At one time, we all lived green and recycled and reused things.  And I love these words from your post.  Well said, and we heatily concur. Thanks A

Hi Joan- so much of it is common sense it makes me crazy. So many people think "green" is a trend or fad, it's not!
