I saw someone's blog post a couple weeks ago about the 10 most overused words or the top 10 words that shouldn't be used and often realtors use them. I found an article yesterday about the 5 listing descriptions that basically won't intice buyers to look at your listing. How often do you use them?

Words that kill deals or decrease profits
- Fantastic
- Spacious
- “!”
- Charming
- Great Neighborhood
Words that make deals or improve profits
- Granite
- Energy-Efficient
- State-of-the-Art
- Maple
- Gourmet
I read these lists and realized I hadn't used any of the words that were green and how used many that were in red on 1 listing alone! Apparently I am killing the listing without even realizing it.
I called one listing a CHARMING home that was SPACIOUS on every floor and had a FANTASTIC backyard area. PLUS I use exclamation points all of the time. (Had a teacher tell me once we were allowed 9 !'s in our lifetime, I believe I have been over that number since the age of 9 when I learned what it was for.)
So next time you go to describe your home look for more original words or actually list what is in the house not a general feeling of the home. And yes there are times you can't get away from using those words but make sure it isn't every time!
