Times they are a changin'

Can you imagine shopping for anything these days without using your computer?  It seems ridiculous to think that shopping, communicating, traveling, banking, finding old friends, finding a job, or just about anything in the world these days works without using a computer.  How did the we ever survive?

I tried to encourage my son to communicate with his girlfriend just once through the good old usps the other day and he gave me that "Mom you're crazy look".  He wanted to know why he couldn't just text, email or use his cell phone.  It was an argument that I didn't win obviously.

There is one avenue that I am thankful for when it comes to computers.   That's the technology for me to find the best listings for clients I represent, and the ease for them to search for listings on my website.  Think about the time savings, right at your fingertips.  With the price of fuel in the last year or so, the computer has been a tremendous ally in fine tuning the properties that clients are really looking for.  Keeping the driving to just those properties that truly meet their criteria.  With the help of Virtual Tours also, clients are able to see much more of a property that just the few pictures allowed in the MLS listing.  I really enjoy creating a tour of the neighborhood, and the community to really highlight not only the property, but the community as a whole.  The comptuer is truly an amazing tool, one no Real Estate Agent can live without.

Hi Krista,

Looks like you may be a pretty new face here. Welcome to AR.

And yes, you are so right, I cannot imagine buying anything without using my computer first. Also, to follow up on Franks' comment above, yes we actually did sell r.e. prior to computers, back int he dark ages.

Thanks for the warm welcome.  Nice to meet you Lynda.  I did not touch a computer until I was in high school back in the 80's.  Now days kids are working on them in the early grade schools.
