Many agents look at fall and immediately leap to the winter doldrums, thinking of the fall as a time when the market slows. For agents where the weather turns snowy some shut down until signs of spring.
For others the arrival of fall and the holiday season is a great time to think about renewal. The changing of the leaves is a good time to remember that just as we have four seasons of the year, real estate also has cycles. The glorious colors of the fall leaves should remind us that this is the time to think about how important the cycles are to maintaining a long term balance in the market.
It also is a great time to think ahead spending any "down" time to review your business plans for next year. Are you ready for whatever type of market your area has next year? Does your business plan contain contingencies? Now is also the time to write your success stories and share them with your clients and prospects. It is the time to say "thank-you" to those who have helped you with your business this year and especially your past clients. Use your time to write drafts of future blogs and explore neighborhoods for posts to Localism.
Most importantly this is the time of year to renew the bonds with your friends and family. Take time to renew your spirit not through the presents you buy at the store but the gifts of stories and memories that you can share for years to come.
So instead of looking at fall as the end, think of fall as the beginning. Enjoy the colors of fall from around Northern Virginia and use the time to renew yourself and be ready for 2008!
