Luigi's

I have heard so much about this place that I had to try it.  It's in the new 'hood and comes in handy those nights when we don't feel like cooking.  We took a peek at the dining room, which is lovely, but we haven't had time to go to a "sit down" dinner since we moved!

The first time we went, it was for a quick lunch at Luigi's Gourmet Express, which is attached to the restaurant. It's a deli, where you can run in with paint splattered clothes and get a great lunch.  Which is what we did, because we were in the middle of painting.  First of all, the sandwiches were HUGE.  Secondly, they were very reasonably priced.  My chicken parm and Melissa's eggplant parm were both $5.95.  When I say huge, I mean we couldn't finish them and took them home for dinner the next night (which we ate sitting on the kitchen floor because we had no furniture yet).

We went again last night,  after the deli closed and ordered from the restaurant menu to take out.  I ordered fettucine with creamy pesto sauce with grilled chicken and sundried tomatoes.  I got soup with my order - chicken escarole.  Melissa got the pasta florentine salad.  Again, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.  I believe the total was around $30.  So much better than a typical "fast food" joint.

I haven't decided whether it's a good thing or a dangerous thing that this place is so close to our new home!
