Is the New Active Rain Like the "New Coke?"

Not that I care....I'm OK with the new Active RaiThere was such an outcry they brought back the classicn.....SO FAR!!!!People loved the "Classic" because of the Original Recipe

I've seen so many comments discussing Active Rain and it's new look and new features.  I like some of it, and some of it I do not like.  Some of it, I'll just have to figure out.  The only thing that I don't really like is having my name roll of the page and some other page things.  The rest of the things I'll discover or get used to. And the speed still stinks.....I hate the lockouts.  Navigation is OK, but the speed.  Sometimes I feel that if it were any slower it'd be in reverse.

But with all of the comments, I got to wondering is this new Active Rain look like the "New Coke?"

Me????  Im' a classic kinda guy.  I hate the new coke.  However, I'm not ready to say that Active Rain needs to revert to the classic, but by all comments you need to wonder.  I'm still excited to see what I can still discover with the new before I start crying for the old.  For me....it still has the same flavor.

So far I don't really like it but I'm still getting used to it.  There are elements that make things easier to find (such as draft posts) but otherwise the terminology has changed a bit making things harder to find.  For me, the jury is still out.

Diet Coke all the way. That one never changes, does it?  Anyway, it seems that all sites change at one point or another so I just take it in stride when AR does the same.

I want to SELL your home, not LIST it!

The size of the photo and the text on the "My Home page" is really irritating.  I'm surprised that there are so many issues, considering that it was tested as a beta version.

Larry I am a Classic Coke guy as well .....also I have been a firm believer, things that are not broken do not fix.....only what needs fixing, but sometimes New Brooms do not get the concept that they do not always  need to sweep:))

The plane.  The plane.

Doesn't really matter.

The speed.  The speed.

What seems to be the matter?

I was shocked to get a silver can of REGULAR COKE, and very surprised to see AR change.   I will wait to judge until I have checked everything out.

As you said, it's okay. Coke learned a valuable lesson with that experiment. My favorite will always be Coke in a glass bottle chilled in ice not the refrigerator.

Larry, I've been avoiding "my home"... it just doesn't feel right to me, maybe it's because I have my photo staring at me on both sides of the screen, I feel a little watched...   I too think, that it's gotten slower...

It took me forever to find the "log-off" button. I don't like the way only part of my name shows up. I wouldn't mind the new look if Active Rain were running faster. I try to get my comments in before cut-off time each night, but I sometimes miss it because it takes 10 minutes for a comment to post. Log-in is incredibly slow also. I wish they had worked on the speed rather than the look. Hopefully they will get everything ironed out soon.

Posting from my office PC on a DSL is easier than doing it EARLY in the AM....ActiveRain needs CAFFINE in the AM I suspect!

Hi Larry - I have not noticed any changes in speed.  The new My Home page provides unnecessary information and removes valuable information.  It is also designed to require us to do more clicking for tasks that I use every day.

Larry~I'm working thru the new look, so far I ok with it. I do think somehow they have to figure out the speed issue, I'm not sure why there has to such an inconsistency. My guess is that they want to make it better, so eventually they figure it out.

Have an awesome weekend!

Wonder if it's your computer or your internet connection? People always blame AR but I think what speed you have on your connection is the biggest thing. I don't like the new format - not because I don't like change, it's I just can't see the benefits of moving everything around!

It seems like it's taking longer to figure out where everything is. I also feel like my picture on the left is 8x10 in size - what's the use of that? I know what I frickin' look like!

Adjust text on your screen? Hold down the CTRL & THEN HIT THE +/- buttons. Voila!
