Pemaquid Point Lighthouse is located in Bristol, Maine.The Pemaquid Point Lighthouse was put into service November 29, 1827. The original structure had to be replaced 8 years later. They believe the builder may have used salt water in the lime mortar. The Pemaquid Light was the first lighthouse to ever appear on American currency, the image in on Maine 2003 quarter. The lighthouse is in service today!
