Gratitude Post

Thanksgiving is nearly upon us, and I feel compelled to share my gratitude in a short blog.

I am grateful that I have a home. As a resident of San Diego, I watched in horror as so much of my beloved county was destroyed by the fires in October. Along the freeway, I can still smell the charred remains. My heart goes out to the many who lost their homes...

I am grateful for my good health and for the good health of those who are most dear to me.

I am grateful for the wonderful relationship I have with my husband and my family.

I am grateful for the opportunity to grow every day. I am facing the challenges before me with a renewed sense of excitement for the possibility.

I am grateful for Active Rain... All the many voices to be heard. Those of you who blog consistently, keep up the good work. You are an inspiration to me! Also, thank you to the agents who called me to offer support during the above-mentioned fires. Your thoughtfulness and generosity moves me beyond words.

Very nice Post Emily Johnston.  I agree.  We really do have alot to be thankful for.  We all have our difficulty and challanges, but we are very luck to be living in America.

Thanks for the inspiration.  We all need to keep things in perspective sometimes, and remember what's really important to us.

Emily--First of all I am glad to hear that you and your family are safe. It was such a wide reaching and devastating event that there will be repercussions for months and years to come. Great post and sentiment. Have a wonderful holiday.

Emily,

I just love your attitude and grace! The orchid background also gives your post a nice touch.

Donald- Thank you. I did forget the obvious Land of the Free comment... there is so very much that I am grateful for every day.

Peggy- I'm all for the Attitude of Gratitude. Though I don't always find it easy (or automatic) I do my best to keep my focus. :-)

Mike- I've drafted out a posting on how I made the pretty background. I'm happy to share... though I suspect I'm not doing it "the easy way." LOL. I'll let you know when it's up, if you like!

Teri- Thank you... I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family! How's Tiki?

Tracy- Thanks! I LOVE orchids. I'm a plant person... I've even adopted an orchid for my logo. My "babies" have been happily making babies this year... more blooms for later!

Emily, I was scrolling through your blogs and I came across this one.  The title caught my eye...Gratitude Post.  It got me thinking, I can post a blog like this ANY time of year!  Often times I'm challenged with what would make a good post.  Saying thanks...I can do that.  I guess I can start by thanking you!
