This Week In Shell Knob
It's close, but February isn't here yet.
It has been a weird, wonderful winter weather wise in Shell Knob. Just a bit of snow one day in December, which was gone by noon and temps above average - my kind of weather. True - not the 70's which my son in Honolulu experiences , but cool enough to have an occasional fire in the fireplace. No need even for winter coats.
Having four seasons is nice, especially when the coldest one is short here in the Ozarks. Short as it is, we start to think of spring now. My Home Office desk faces Table Rock Lake, so I can see the occasional fox, coyote or deer meander by and watch the bald eagles fish for their breakfast.
Springfield, Missouri is having their Home & Garden Show this week end. Shell Knob has it the first of April. Boat Shows are prolific in February as most everyone starts to Think Spring! There have been several boats out fishing this week and I also spotted some brave soul ignoring the 50 degrees out in a kayak.
