2011 City of Toronto Vacant Unit Property Tax Rebate

Commercial and industrial properties in the City of Toronto may be eligible for a partial rebate of property taxes if certain conditions are met.

A maximum of two Vacant Unit Rebate Applications can be filed for each taxation year.  The application filing deadline for each taxation year is the last day of February of the following year.

The deadline for filign Vacant Unit Rebate Applications for calendar 2011 is February 29, 2012.

At a time when governments are claiming to be short on money, I'm really surprised they are willing to help business, rather than hinder it.

Hi Al and Peggy - Rebates are very nice.  However, sometimes there are other issues that owners need to consider as well.

Hi Todd - The rebate application process is mandated by the Ontario government which passes various property tax laws related to municipalities in Ontario.
