Do You Have a Business or a Hobby?

“Without customers, you don’t have a business.

you have a hobby.”

Don Pepper and Martha Rogers – Return on Customers

As I see it . . . . . . .

Do you have a business or a hobby?

What separates a business from a hobby are customers.

What separates a business from a successful business is an endless flow of satisfied customers.

The foundation of any successful business is in their ability to attract and maintain their customer base.

Attracting customers is a process and a successful business has an organized system to create an open pipeline of customers flowing in to their business to achieve their objectives.

In order for a business to successfully attract customers they have to understand who their customers are and what would be the best methods to attract them.

Attracting customers can be achieved through a combination of social prospecting, personal promotion and marketing. For your customer attraction process to be effective it has to be done with a specific purpose and done consistently.

One best source of new customers comes from your existing satisfied customers.

Customers that have a positive experience with you and your business will feel comfortable is giving testimonials and referrals to the business.

The number one reason for a business to fail today is not money it’s the lack of customers.

As you prepare yourself for business each day ask yourself do you have a business or a hobby? The answer is in do you have customers to work with today and what will you do today to attract more customers?

I think of my business as kind of my hobby... I think that is why I love my work so much. I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. And i make money for doing my hobby! Can't beat that!!

Golf is my hobby. If I "played" at real estate the way I golf I would be broke!

Lou,

What started as a hobby has turned into a business. And as I look back over the years, the "customer" have turned into friends.  Makes it doubly rewarding!

If you are not continually prospecting you do not have a business. If you do not prospect some of the time soon you will not be able to afford your hobby!
