"Put me in coach I'm ready to play" sound familiar it's something uttered daily on every playing field in America today.  However the coaches at Life's Building Blocks are helping parents prepare their kids for the big game.  No it's not the Super bowl, nor the World Series, this game is much bigger than that, this game is life!.

These coaches are not like any other coach either.  They are Character coaches and it's time we get back to the basics.  The fundamentals which will be the foundation of how we play the game.  Without these core values we could be suffering the same fate as a number of recent ball players who have "cheated" or fallen from grace.  How do we teach our kids how to deal with moral issues when we have so many poor role models in sports, music and entertainment that they idolize and want to mimic?.

One way is to periodically pull the earplugs from the Ipod, unplug the computer, and turn off the tube.  Instead of just preaching to your kids why not play a game developed by Life's Building blocks as well.  These games and tools are based around characters on a board game. Each month, the program addresses the importance of all virtues (honesty, courage, self-control, kindness, perseverance and fairness), while focusing on one in particular, allowing children to ponder and interact with situations involving the virtue in depth for up to a month or more. The program is addressed to the child and mailed home monthly. The Character Development program offers easy, effective tools for parents with busy schedules.  The Program is distributed through "character coaches". Through in-home character building parties and personal networking, character coaches are making a difference in families' lives.

Vikash Sanyal, is the founder of Life's Building Blocks with Nick Gianis, and Darren Alexander.  The core focus of the company is helping parents build moral character in children ages 4 to 11.

This was accomplished by putting together a team of character development experts, game development experts, and award-winning children's book authors to create a system of fun, interactive learning products that gets the whole family involved.

Nick Gianis saw in Sanyal's company a unique career opportunity that perfectly fit both his personal and professional goals.  He is passionate about what this board game can do for families. So much so he changed careers, became a partner in the company, and moved his family back to California from Texas.  What a great way to make a living by making a difference in families lives.

We can all agree that parents are the key and most important influence in a child's development.  These games are just another tool parents can reinforce or open up for discussion topics that deal with character and character related issues. Watch a brief video of Life's Building Blocks

Pablo,

To me spending as much one on one personal and private time with our children is the best way to ensure they have the moral and spiritual foundation for the choices they will have to make in their lives.

IF NOT US...then we cannot complain on how they turn out.

Hi Dan,

I agree 100% it is up to parents to spend as much time possible with their kids.  Games such as the ones produced by Life's Building Blocks give us the opportunity to play games as a family, have "quality time", and help instill those core values at the same time.  These games help reinforce the God given principles for our family.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Great post... parents teaching responsibility, right from wrong and other ethical and moral principles is so sorely needed in this day and age...

Doing such things in love is so important.....
