While I totally understand the convenience of this technology, I've always found that having someone at the office to do phones is the best way of handling calls. People want to talk to people. I've had SO many first time callers sound so relieved and say "Thank God a Person! I'm so sick of machines!!". Every little bit of the 'personal touch' counts.

That is definitely a great point. However, consider the many mortgage professionals who simply can't afford to hire someone to answer phones in the office, or would rather spend that money on other business functions like marketing!
