Julie, I am a big fan of garages on  the side of the home instead of the front. Nice layout here.

you guessed it front load takes up the whole front of the house, that's ok the party is in the back anyway.

Danny and Brian,

This home does have a side loading garage and is being built in a subdivision which allows in the covenants for only side loading and back loading garages.  It is definitely a better choice in my opinion, but it takes 24 to 28 ft on the side yards to allow a radius for a turnaround so you don't have to back down a long driveway - so they don't fit everywhere.......
