When Client's Listen...
Five years ago I moved an architect into her first single family home. At the time, because of budgetary considerations, it was not a “deluxe” unpack, but a very functional unpack.
When it came time to unpack her closets, I made the suggestion that she consider switching out her hangers to wooden ones so that her clothing could breathe.
We stayed in touch over the years, and we recently re-connected face-to-face at a networking event. She mentioned I’d been on her mind and she wanted to get together after the New Year. So, I called her last week to check in.
We met this evening and over a cup of tea caught ourselves up over what was happening in our lives. She will be getting married this July in Holland, and will be traveling quite extensively to India for her job. She wanted to chat with me about some changes to her home should she decide to stay to make it more comfortable and also ideas of how to stage it should she decide to sell.
I open the MBR closet door! What a beautiful site to see!! All her clothes (mostly color coordinated.. you go Jen!) on wooden hangers. There was a grin on my mouth from ear to ear as I turned to thank her for having wooden hangers… she immediately replied “But, Peggy… you taught me that when you moved me!” (sorry that the photo at left is from another client and has a mixture of wood and wire hangers)
It’s so nice when client’s listen and take your organizing advice!!
