On Friday February 3rd, 2012, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Abused and Neglected Children) will be having its 12th Annual SnowFest at Loon Mountain, NH.

This fun filled day long event will feature golf on skis...that's right...golf on skis, breakfast, lunch at the Common Man in the Governor's Pavilion and après ski party with raffle prizes and award ceremony. The entry fee for a foursome is $500 or you can sign up individually for $95 and they will place you on a team.  Click here to reserve your spots for teams and individuals now!!!

For other levels of sponsorship, please contact Sara Bowen at 603-626-4600 or by email at sbowen@casa.org

Sound goofy? You bet it is, but the most fun you can have with your snow pants ON!!!

Sponsors of the event are Loon Mountain, WMUR - TV, WOKQ 97.5, The Common Man Restaurants, and many more!

CASA is a national organization of volunteers who advocate in our court system for abused and neglected children all across our country. In New Hampshire alone, 1000 children each year are victims of physical or sexual abuse, neglect or abandonment. CASA volunteers have direct involvement in the courts to help these children find the respite they need. As a volunteer, each CASA Guardian ad Litem (GAL) works only in "the best interest of the child" and the court system appreciates and respects CASA's recommendations.

Of course, the need for resources far exceeds the volunteers and financial capacity available. If you are interested in becoming a CASA GAL, or would like to help in any way please visit http://www.casaforchildren.org/ or in New Hampshire http://www.casanh.org/

I am very proud of the work done by my wife Chris as a CASA GAL and her many CASA associates here in New Hampshire I have come to know and respect over the years. This is truly a worthwhile organization.

That looks like such a fun event for a great cause.  If I were playing, I'd need a bright orange ball - otherwise, I'd just be hunting for it all day (which would probably be half the fun).

I hope you get a great turnout!

Hi Kat - Bright orange works just fine. !8 holes of golf, sliding down a hill and food is involved...How much fun is that? So far, the weather forecast looks good for a day designed to help kids. Thanks for stopping by!

The Guardian Ad Litem programs are wonderful and that makes this event one for a great cause, John. Golfing on skis, hmmmm. Are you taking videos? hint, hint.

Hi Toni - There is no doubt, after 11 seasons, CASA NH, and Loon Mountain have this thing down. There are awesome sponsors and they receive great media coverage from WMUR-TV and WOKQ radio. I think it could be time for a fresh new video! Hope all is well!
