Weltanschauung - An Active Rain Perspective
When I first saw this word, “Weltanschauung”, I knew it was German, having spent two years in that wonderful country back in the 1970’s, but I had not idea of it’s meaning until I looked it up in Wikipedia on the Internet. Basically , it is a world view or outlook of fundamental belief in an individual, group, or organization. So, as it relates to Active Rain, what is the perspective or point of view for this great networking society that we have here is the Rain?

Well, to begin with, I have come to understand that Active Rain is the largest real estate social network for thousands of professionals, who have a common bond. That common bond being to help one another to build relationships that promote their businesses and professions, and even perhaps, to take these businesses and professions to another level. Therefore, the “Weltanschauung” in Active Rain, as I see it, every professional in Active Rain has the ability, resources, and tools to help them take their businesses and profession to an all new level.

It’s a combination of building relationships, and receiving an education from all facets on the real estate industry which include agents and vendors from every state in the United States, Canada, and other international locations too. The biggest tool that we have been given is the ability to express our opinions, beliefs, and ideas through the blogging platform which has the potential to reach millions of consumers.

Look for part II of “Weltanschauung” for an expansion on these point of views of what Active Rain is all about soon. The primary goal of Active Rain is still “to empower the real estate agent, as an extension, educate, and empower the consumer.”

Hi Jerry: I have to admit that everytime I read a post about AR's Weltanschauung I wish there was audio and I could hear everyone trying to pronounce it (you, my friend, would probably get pretty close to perfect). I like your summary, it's clear & precise. Everybody who opts to become a member of AR should share its Weltanschauung - in its principles at least.

Yes, Andrea. I could really share a few stories with you about by time in Germany, and especially my trip to Berlin at Check Point Charlie, the American section of West Berlin. There was a huge difference between the East and the West back in the 70's. Anyway, I believe I can come close to pronouncing Weltanschauung correctly. I did learn to speak some German while I was there too.
