This idea seems to be catching on across the country.

We have one here in Akron, Ohio, too. We call ours the Polar Bear Swim. A hole is cut in the lake ice at the Portage Lakes State Park, and while hundreds of spectators and supporters watched, some 300 jumpers paid $25 each to take the plunge last year. We expect at least this many this year.

We get great coverage by the local radio, TV and newspapers.
