Review of KW eEdge Market Leader Integration

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Tampa Central

I was wondering what everyones (KW agents) feedback was on the Keller Williams Realty eEdge integrated Market Leader Product(s).

Here are my thoughts:

Market Leader:
- PRO - Great basic start up site that is easy to use - The basic (Free) version is a perfect starter site for a brand new agent
- PRO - liked the way the sytem automatically responds to registered users with listings and emails.
- PRO - great looking site - very user friendly and good basic design.
- PRO - great all-in-one-system for a brand new real estate agent.
- CON - don't like the fact that you cannot add additional pages/ content.
- CON - don't like the fact that the site forces you to log in to see entire new lead contact info.
- CON - don't like the fact that you cannot auto import leads into/from the CRM of the site (ex. Top Producer, other websites).
- CON - Doesn't seem like a good system for an established agent with multiple sites & CRM... Market Leader designed the site to be an all in one system.
- CON - If you want to use the system for a large team, it will cost $1000 per month for KW agents :( ... in my opinion it is probably worth less than half of that.
- CON - PRO version Marketing features were initially difficult to use and set up... just ended up not using. I'm sure if I would have spent more time learning the system it would have gotten easier (kind of like the Top Producer learning curve).
- CON - I used tried the PRO features for an additional $99 per month (which included Market Insider that no one seemed to really use), but recently discontinued after seeing lack of benefits and non-use - FYI... I did not realize they take your domain away if you go back to the basic system so you will have to re-register a new domain and start from scratch :(
- CON - Seller lead listing tools did not work properly because the system automatically pulls data from your site into the email which you can't change when sending to a seller. If you don't have a ton of traffic going to your site, you look like an idiot to the seller.
- CON - the site forces you to upgrade to PRO to see site activity... most sites give this to you for free.
- CON - the Performance evaluator is a great tool for teams, but is useless on the PRO version and not available on the free KW version. They force you to upgrade to the Realty Generator ($1000 per month for KW agents) in order to use that feature for multiple people. This tool should be functional for at least 5 team members under the PRO version ($99 upgrade).
- CON - the shared team access gives all your leads to everyone you share access with (your leads) under the PRO version. The only way to have the agents on your team only see the leads assigned to them is to upgrade to over-priced Realty Generator :(

Final Thoughts - Market Leader eEdge product has major potential, but still needs a lot of tweeking. I would recommend the basic system if you are brand new to real estate because of the automatic response to new leads.

Nice post!  I have been using the  PRO verison and deciding if I want to spend $$ on Real Pro.  I am also running up against the fact that these sites will not work with pay per click.... hmmm...

Sorry, but this is a year later.  What are your comments now.  I just signed up with ML.  I am a one man operation with my wife as admin.

I'm also curious. I've been seeing this product and haven't been able to tell if it does much for the money. The craigslist management seems like a joke.

Hi Michael, came across this post.  Was wondering if your opinions have changed since you worte this.  Would like to migrate our team from Top Producer to eEdge, but not sure of functionality.

Would love to discuss if you have time.  352-369-4044

I'm also wondering what your thoughts are now, after some time has passed.  I'm using eEdge but thinking of switching Top Producer - anyone have any thoughts or comparisons of the two?

Although I did not use it's full potential, I used Top Producer for 5-6 years.  I thought TP did Contact Database and Market Leader was as a lead capture website?  Personally, I use ML Pro to capture & maintain up to a point and MS Outlook for Client/Customer contact management.

Thank you so much for the honest feedback! I am using a basic eEdge. Like you said "the site forces you to upgrade to PRO to see site activity... most sites give this to you for free". I absolutely agree with you!
