If your house is on the market, how do you stack up?

In the Uptown-Lakes area there is enough inventory to last for the next year and a half!

And if your trying to sell a condo, you can expect even longer L

So, what does this mean?

If your house is on the market, are you trying to sell your house yourself or do you have an active agent working for you?  I say active agent, because in this market your agent has to be actively marketing your property and that means taking advantage of today’s technology.  If you're trying to sell your house, good luck, I encourage the do-it-yourself spirit, but be prepared to compete on price and profit.

Bottom line, it’s a cold sellers market in Uptown, buyers are scarce and we are heading into the winter months…whatever your situation, make sure you stay informed and if you ever have any questions please feel free to contact me at hello@tyghre.com.

Very interesting, Tyghre. The market has changed dramatically. I sold a Victorian on Grand in Whittier in 2002. I'm a native Minnesotan but I've lived in California almost longer than anywhere. My husband went back to Minneapolis about six months ago and said Franklin and Nicollet has turned into Yuppie condo land.

You said it Elizabeth, too many investors converted old apartment buildings into condos which now sit vacant.  As for the "yuppie" comment...much of Uptown is consumed with young working professionals, which I am...though I think I would fall under the "hippie" category.

P.S. I am so jealous of you, warm weather right about now would be nice...even if its 50 degree weather, I'll take it!!!

You're not old enough to be a hippie. :)

Even when I was there for a brief time in the 1990s, uptown was Yuppified. But Whittier? When I told people I moved to Whittier, their mouths fell open. You moved where??? Ha, ha, ha, I sold my house for three times what I paid for it.
