I'm Back, with BACK TO BACK - I'VE GOT YOUR YOUR BACK, FRIDAY STORIES
Last Friday I was doing a walk through in a short sale and I foolishly parked across the street of the house we were checking on.
Why foolish?
I was greeted by a large dog that came up aggressively to my passenger window- a Doberman that was frothing at the mouth to be exact! He was frantically trying to get into the house on the side of the street that I parked.
I waited for him to go around the side of the house before I opened the door and crossed the street with my back turned to the dog. (not exactly the smartest thing I have done lately!)
As I neared the top of the driveway to open up the house we were checking on my buyer all of a sudden yelled, "JUMP INTO THE BACK OF THE TRUCK!!!" and Tom moved forward to protect me. The frothing Doberman stopped five feet short of saying "hello" to me!
I never opened a lockbox so fast in my life as Tom(my buyer) had my back looking out for a return visit from the Doberman. Tom immediately called animal control as the neighborhood elementary school was about to let out and children would be walking past the house with this aggressive dog still on the loose.
I still had a problem when we were finished of how to get back to my truck without the dog paying me a return visit. That was solved with the arrival of animal control!!!
THANKS, TOM FOR HAVING MY BACK!!!
Yesterday I visited the courthouse and then the county records building to do deed research for an incredible property that we just re-listed. It is almost 50 acres of wooded land with a stream that has a 2500 square foot ranch house with outbuildings located at 4125 North 300 West in West Lafayette, Indiana.
I went to pay for the deed copies in the recorders office and handed the staff member a $20 bill. There was a question about one of the deeds so they suggested I go next door to the auditor's office and discuss the matter with them. I left the $20 bill with the staff member and she said to come back and pay her when I received the information I needed about the deed copies next door.
It turned out I needed two more deed copies so I went back to the recorder's office and paid another staff member the $12 they needed in cash and then walked away.
I met the original staff member in the hallway returning from break and she asked me if I received my change back from the $20 bill I gave her.
I HAD FORGOTTEN I HAD ALREADY PAID HER before I went next door to the auditor's office and the $20 bill was still laying on the counter by her workstation!
I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THE $20!!!!
Thank you Tippecanoe County Recorder's Office you sure had MY BACK!!!!
Ginkgo Biloba anyone????
