As I sit in my pj's typing this blog.... it's easy to think of many things to be thankful for.
I'm so thankful for my beautiful children and my loving and supportive husband. For my healthy parents who are always there for me and my family. My siblings and their families - my husband's family as well. For my three mangy mutts who love unconditionally and are always SOOO happy to see me. For the good health shared by myself and my family - so terribly important..... and for my business partner, Nancy, who is there to encourage and support me and share with me the enjoyment of our wonderful business. I'm thankful for the beautiful blue sky and the gorgeous Arizona landscape that I wake up to each and every morning, and the sounds of the birds getting up with the sun. Well, I could just go on and on and on.
Our son Chris and his lovely wife, Rachel are going to Colorado Springs to celebrate Thanksgiving with Rachel's family this year. Since they are flying there on Thursday, we have elected to celebrate our Thanksgiving tomorrow - Wednesday. Our son Paul is home this week from college and he and Chris will golf tomorrow and then we will enjoy our turkey and all the trimmings.
This will be our second Thanksgiving without the presence of our daughter ,who lives and works in Colorado (the first was when she took a semester off of College to go live in Hawaii a few years ago.) So, we will miss her, but at the same time I'm SOOO thankful that she was able to find a job that she adores after graduating from College last May - and I'm also thankful that she has close friends that will also be staying in Colorado over the holiday and they will enjoy their own celebration and perhaps start new Thanksgiving traditions for those times she's unable to spend the holiday with us, and we will look forward to seeing her happy face at Christmas.
I'm thankful that Paul is home for a few days and will be able to help me put up the Christmas lights later today, and I'm thankful that my husband took this week off so he could spend some extra precious moments with our son as we know from experience that these times will be less often and more fleeting.
I'm thankful to AR for allowing me a place to enjoy writing and expressing myself and offering support to myself and others.
Enjoy a blessed Happy Thanksgiving this week everyone and take a moment to be thankful for the things we should never ever take for granted. I know you will.
