Outdated Bathrooms - What can be done

By
Home Stager with Gomes Design

I had a client  who had their house on the market for over 1 1/2 years.  When I walked in she wanted to know what was outdated. The house was 24 years old and well maintained but never renovated.

The following bathroom had canary yellow fixtures. Any potential buyer would see tons of $$$$ flying out the room.  As usual budget was a concern.  My recommendations was to resurface the tub and tiles, change the toilet and a new floor.  Even though it cost $450 Cdn.  just to resurface the tub it made a huge impact.  I feel this is a good use of money.  The house sold the first showing.

Nice work! That old canary yellow always looks a little soiled, don't you think?

Isabel - examples like these leave me speechless as to why a listing real estate agent would not immediately contact a local stager to partner with them on their listings.  They are leaving money on the table and not servicing their clients to the best of their abilities the first time out.

You have provided outstanding proof that large sums of money are not required to get the home sold.  Congratulations!

Nice job!  Was that wallpaper or tile in both bathrooms? As soon as I saw the wood toilet seat, I knew what you were dealing with!

Excellent job Isabel!  It's amazing the difference isn't it?  I'll bet that agent wishes he or she had called you much sooner.  Congratulations!

Hey, Isabel, nice job.  Amazing what some white will do in a bathroom.  And what a terrific stat for your portfolio.  don't forget (as I often have) to get quotes for the testimonial section on your website, etc.

When you said have the tile resurfaced, did you mean replaced?  I've heard of resurfacing tubs, but not tile.  Can you give me more information?  GREAT JOB!
