It is a sad day at Mill End Park

Last September I wrote about the World’s Smallest Park “Mill End Park” in Portland, Oregon. I had some fun with it and my daughter, but today it really is sad. We have been having some major wind in the Portland area and that wind was enough to take out Mill End’s only tree. Despite the tree only being about two feet tall, the wind was enough to tip it over.

So, hopefully the city will be able to restore the tree and the park to all its small glory soon.

:( Ohhh. That sweet and sad little face says it all. I too hope they are able to replant the tree and restore it to it's former (short) glory. The wind's wild isn't it? At least the sun is shining.

Todd I hate to hear that the only tree was taken down by Mother Nature.  Maybe this tree will be strong enough to with stand the wind.  The spring winds are not upon Albuquerque yet but when they arrive everything will be tied down and the trees will bend with many snapping like twigs.

Where's the glee when there's no tree?

Must have quite a wind to blow that low.

Todd:  Bittersweet, but with lamenting like that I think the new tree will make the task.

Ahhhh, so adorable (your daughter as well as the park!) At least the park is not likely to need too much in the way of funding for groundskeepers! Hopefully it's soon restored to its full glory!

QUICK - go replant the tree before the City cements in the park.

Hi Todd,

What happened to the swing set?

Did it get blown over too?

Sad. Really Sad.

Todd,

Forget about the city. If the park's that important replace it yourself. :)

Awwww. You can just see the dejection in every inch of her body. Hope a tree will be back soon.
