S.E.O. Some Educated Opinions
In an effort to complete the 2012 BIG Jumpstart Blogging Challenge, I am writing this post about SEO. Since what I know about SEO could fit in the eye of a gnat without making him blink, I decided to pick the brains of those who know more about SEO than me.
Here are some facts about SEO that you may no know:
- Photos smaller than 60 pixels are generally not indexed by search engines. This proves the old maxim "Go Big or Stay Home". There is a lot more useful information in Tom Arstingstall's blog about maximizing the SEO of your blog photos - and you can find it by clicking on Tom's photo.

- Some of us overlook the chance to increase our website's ranking. An easy way to do this is to link from your blog several times, and to make sure the links go to different pages of your website. This tip comes from Kristine Ginsberg, who has a lot of other tips for SEO in her recent post. You can get the details by clicking on her photo.

Since I think you are now starting to get serious about SEO, maybe now is the time to add some measurement tools. If you have Firefox as your browser, (or would consider switching), there is a toolbar called SEO QUAKE that lets you see your website the way Google sees it. You'll be able to see page rank and how the seach engines see your pages. For more information, and good advice about link-backs, see Ted Cantu's post. Click his photo.
