Work Environment

Real Estate Agent with Dimension Properties

My experience here at EHI Real Estate Advisors has been fantastic.  I look back at our Christmas Cocktail this past weekend, our weekly meetings, each and everyday at the office and I truly feel blessed to be working with the people I do.

I'm curious to know what others out in the field think about their workplace.  Do the majority of you work from home or are you at your office everyday, minus appointments and meetings?  Do the larger firms have the same, high level of comradery as a small office?  Does it make a difference?

Happy Holidays!

Hi Henry,

My wife and I owned our own firm for about 7 yrs and then we were bought out by another firm and stayed there for another 7 years and made another change in '05.

While we were an independent we had a very tight and family oriented office. All the agents were in the office all the time. That's the way it was supposed to be. Then when we were bought out we went to a 3 office enviroment and we still had the same family effect.

Now we are with a 10 office 300 agent firm and it is completely business all around. It is not the family type of atmosphere we used to have but it seems to work for them and we are very happy where we are now.

We have been in the business for over 22 years and we now work from home most of the time and we are now selling homes to the children of customers we sold to many many yrs. ago.

I think when starting out it is best to be around the office as much as possible to soak up as much information as possible.

Thanks Jay

Jay,

I appreciate the post.

I've never worked at a larger company, actually, I've never worked for any other company than EHI and I don't plan on changing that.  It's amazing what a good foundation can do in creating a family atmosphere in the work place.  It truly makes going to work easier and more fulfilling.

Best of luck in the New Year.
