Equator Coverage Q & A

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Through Altisource Solutions, Inc., an affiliate and nonexclusive service provider for EQUATOR® and Altisource®

Q: I just signed up for coverage area service what’s the next step?
A: Equator provides Sellers the software they use to manage and sell all their foreclosed “REO” homes. Our Coverage Area service is a form of advertising. There really are no next steps for the Agent. The Seller will contact you directly if they assign you a listing.

Q: How do Sellers find Agents on Equator?
A: When it comes time for Banks to assign a Listing Agent, Equator generates a list of available agents based on the zip code of the property. Equator provides the Agent database to the Sellers, and provides Agents with the opportunity to be seen in that database. Equator does not participate in the assignment of a Listing Agent.

Q: How do I know I have a new listing?
A: If you are selected as a Listing Agent, the Seller will contact you directly via email or phone. In many cases they may assign the listing to you in Equator, in which case you will receive an automated email of your new assignment.

Q: What do I have to do if I get a Listing?
A: Many of the largest banks use Equator and each have different things they request of their Listing Agents. In general, Sellers need help valuing, preparing and marketing their properties.

Q: How do I find Listings in my area?
A: To locate properties on our website, please log into your account at Equator.com Select the BUYER tab. The search field is located below the image of the United States. You can search by state, city, or zip.  These are properties that have already been assigned to a Listing Agent and are available for sale.

Q: Who owns the properties on Equator?
A: Equator does not own the properties listed on our site and therefore we cannot release information or make any decisions regarding the disposition of the properties. The properties are owned by Sellers.
