Hi Pam--the before photo is so bland.  Nothing to catch or hold the buyers attention.  You have solved that problem.  You are right--either the buyers will notice the flaws or they will notice the features and it is up to the seller which they see.  Home staging helps point out the features--the flaws will still have to be attended to--but at least the "bad" has some "good" to balance it out.
