Stage that Vacant House to Sell!

Home Stager with Staging Fox Valley, LLC

Stage that Vacant House to Sell--Do you have a vacant house just sitting on the market?  Does all the feedback about the house come back with negative comments about all its "bumps and bruises"?  Do you find yourself thinking: "Come on people!  The house is solid, why are you focusing on these little things?"

The reason why the average buyer focuses on these things is because they have nothing else to focus on!  Cracks in the walls scream for attention, stains on the carpet call out to buyers to be noticed and dated fixtures simply beg to be put out of their misery!

To quiet this cacophony, you need to stage that vacant house to sell it.  Staged vacant houses spend half the time on the market that unstaged vacant houses do.  This is why:

  • Staging helps the buyer see something other than imperfections.
  • Staging gives a lifeless space the feeling of HOME.
  • Staging creates interest and helps the house stand out from the competition.

Master Bathroom - Before

This master bathroom is in a vacant house that was in foreclosure.  Nothing more was going to be done to this house.  With palm trees and braided scrolls, the toilet seat cover yells: "I'M DATED!" and sticks out like a sore thumb.

By adding a few simple accessories that fit in with the fixed theme, the toilet seat is no longer yelling!  It is blending in and adding to the feel of the room.

By hiring a professional home stager, that vacant house will soon be sweetly singing to buyers and selling before you know it!

Hi Pam-this is great advise for homeowners in Appleton, a home on the market needs to be put in the best possible position to get it sold and staging is a big help.

The whole world is your stage. I agree, spruce it up and give people the vision of living there.

Hi Pam--the before photo is so bland.  Nothing to catch or hold the buyers attention.  You have solved that problem.  You are right--either the buyers will notice the flaws or they will notice the features and it is up to the seller which they see.  Home staging helps point out the features--the flaws will still have to be attended to--but at least the "bad" has some "good" to balance it out.

Thanks for the comments Adrian, Erv and Janet!

I wish more people would understand the benefits of staging--it's not simply making a space look nice, it's about helping increase equity and decreasing market time!
