The Hoffman Murphy Team is so excited – spring is definitely in the air! The 38th annual Festival of the Kites will decorate the skies of Redondo Beach on Sunday, March 11th starting at noon.

This Redondo Beach tradition is one of Southern California’s longest running kite festivals, and attracts residents of Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and more. Children, adults and seniors can bring their kites and take part. There are loads of chances to win prizes, awarded in various categories such as youngest participant or youngest at heart.

Kites may be handmade or store bought, and participants will have five minutes to get their kite to its highest altitude. There are no rules on how large the kite should be or how it is made, however the kite must be able to make it off the ground.

The festival is kicked off by the 9th Annual Yo-Yo Competition as well as the hot-dog-on-a-stick contest, both taking place on the pier. Entertainment such as a drum circle, martial arts demonstrations and live music will also entertain guests.

All of us at Hoffman Murphy hope you can take part in this annual event! Please bookmark our blog so you may stay up to date on all of the upcoming events in our area. If you are looking to sell or purchase a new home, we’d love to hear from you!
