Anthem Arizona is my home. So I may be biased. However, I have not seen another community like it in all the U.S. For those unitiated, Anthem is a master planned community located in the northern most part of Phoenix built by Del Webb beginning in 1999. I is now nearing completion with only a few dozen more homes left to be completed. It is a community of about 35,000 people. All the family and friends I have had to visit over the 3 years we have lived here are all in agreement that it is one of the most beautiful and family friendly communities they have ever seen. From the mountain vistas to the two state of the art golf courses located within the community the natural beauty surrounding the city is hard to beat here in Arizona. Then of course we have all the amenities. 4 elementary schools and 1 high school located within the community. A full fledged water park with slides, pools (olympic size and diving pool with 1 and 3 meter diving boards), a beautiful community center with a full service gym, indoor basketball court and aerobics studio, 8 baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, a skateboard park, outdoor sand volleyball courts, a miniature train that circles the community park for the kids, two other gyms located in the country club community, and dozens of other parks and trails sprinkled throughout the community. It is truly a self contained community. We also several shopping centers with major grocers anchoring the centers and an outlet mall across the highway.
