Whitney Houston is Gone...

Real Estate Agent with California Lifestyle Realty DRE# 1780607

Whitney Houston rose to fame as I was graduating from college... even a George Strait fan could not ignore her mega-pop debut album... titled simply Whitney Houston.   It included the hits, "Saving all My Love for You",  "I'm Your Baby Tonite", "How Will I Know", "Greatest Love of All", "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (that loves me)"...That album charted 6 no. 1's and according to Wikipedia..

Houston was the most awarded female act of all time, according to Guinness World Records. Her list of awards includes 2 Emmy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards, among a total of 415 career awards as of 2010.

Especially for friends and fans, like me,  who are the same age... I know you are as sad as I am that Whitney is gone.  I am sharing two of my favorite performances below. Simply put... drugs kill.

When I heard it I went right to the internet, and there was controversy there. Then I got texts and figured it must be true. What a shame she waisted her life!

Just sad. I saw her in concert back in the Mid- 1990's. Let's just say I was not too happy when the girlfriend(now wife) told me she bought us tickets. Her voice was amazing. God bless her family in the difficult days ahead.

So much talent, such a fantastic voice. So much sadness...so much loss.

She seemed to be born into greatness... the daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston, the cousin of 1960s pop diva Dionne Warwick and the goddaughter of Aretha Franklin...She will be missed.

I heard the news and it was so sad to hear.  I think her performance of our National Anthem at the Super Bowl was my all time favorite.

I didn't know . . . WOW that's a shock.  She had such talent.  I feel so sorry for her young daughter, Bobbi Kristina.  She was very close to her mother.  This must be such a shock and I'm sorry Whitney couldn't pull it together for her daughter's sake.

Hey Kathy yes I too just recently saw this on the internet and could not believe it. Such an incredible gift and talent and what a tragic way to use it. Goes to show you can have all the talent in the world but a bad decision can cause you to lose it all

Sad to hear, she was a great talent.

Alcohol, drugs, abuse, addictions are all progressive problems. The problems onl get worsen never better. There are so many who were lost because they could not manage to get out.

It can be done.

She will be our prayers.

What can we do for you today?

Hello to each of you as I listened to the music and thought about what a shame that she could not handle the fame that was given to her. Life is so short she was blessed with a beautiful smile a wonderful voice and to let drugs get in the way what a shame. Drugs why and for what purpose does a person take them can we not find joy in everyday life.... joy in the music, joy in the rewards of a job well done... joy in knowing that she impacted so many lifes with her music.... joy in just being Whitney Houston... I really do not understand at all. Joy in the freedom that we have as Americans. The small things in life mean so much. Lest we forget when we go home to tell the ones we love I CARE ABOUT YOU... I love you... and thank you for being you.... Have a blessed night
