The Buyer Walked Because The Toilets Weren't Just Right???

By
Real Estate Agent with The Homefinding Center CA BRE #01344132

I recently read about an agent who lost a real estate purchase transaction because the buyers backed out of a deal due to the home not having the right kind of toilets.

You read that right.  The toilets in the house didn't have the right shape and the buyers cancelled the deal due to it.

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"   I'm sorry to report that this story is true.

I can't imagine even a rookie agent allowing this to happen, much less someone who's been in the business for several years.

I assume the home in question had between 2 and 4 toilets.  At $100 per toilet, the buyer's agent in this case allowed a deal to die over somewhere between $200 and $400.

I (nor any of my agents or agents I know) would NEVER allow our buyers to lose the home they want for something as silly as this, but this other agent actually let their buyers walk over it.

Don't be that agent.

I'm not an agent, but I think I may have come up with a solution here.

Maybe there were some other issues that we don't know about Cameron.

Thanks for the post.

Tom - The agent made it clear that the reason for pulling from the deal was that the toilets were not the elongated seat type.  thanks for stopping by.

Cameron, I am about to do a post on Toto toilets...they have the elongated quiet closing seats and my new listing has four of them. Your post is quite timely.
